President's Academic Excellence Initiative Award (2021)

Awards totalling approximately $4.3 million per year are provided to recognize the significant contributions of PhD students to the research activities of the university. The awards are available to all new and continuing PhD students, except those who have their tuition paid by a sponsor or who are not assessed tuition.

International Tuition Award (2021)

International Tuition Awards assist international graduate students with their tuition fees if they are registered full-time in research-oriented master’s and doctoral programs at UBC - Vancouver campus.

Valedictorian of the Faculty of Science (2021)

I was chosen Valedictorian of my graduating class at the University of Ottawa's Faculty of Science. I gave the class' farewell speech at the graduation ceremony.

Innovation Fund Winner (2021)

I made a video about Peru's treasures for prospective exchange Canadian students, giving them a taste of the international experience they could have.

Maha and Kassem Saleh Scholarship (2020)

The purpose of this fund is to alternately award a scholarship to a high-performance student in the second or third year of the Mathematics Program and to a high-performance student in the second or third year of the Computer Science or Software Engineering Program at the University of Ottawa.

CANDEV 2020 Finalist

I developed a web application, and a mathematical model to classify Canadian cities as high, medium, and low level “Smart Cities”. My teammates and I reached the finals and ranked among the best 10 teams in the competition.

Breakthrough Junior Challenge 2019 Popular Vote Top Scorer
and Regional Champion

The Breakthrough Junior Challenge is an annual global competition for students to inspire creative thinking about science. Students ages 13 to 18 worldwide are invited to create original videos that bring to life a concept or theory in the life sciences, physics, or mathematics. The submissions are judged on the student’s ability to communicate complex scientific ideas in engaging, illuminating, and imaginative ways. The video I made about cryptography won The Popular Vote Stage, appeared in Peru's media, and is being used for instruction purposes in cyber-security university courses.

Linis Mathematics Scholarship (2018)

Viktors Linis received a PhD from McGill in 1953 and joined the faculty at the University of Ottawa in 1957. He was head of the Department of Mathematics (Faculty of Science) from the late 1950s to the early 1970s. Professor Linis and his wife bequeathed funds to create scholarships to perpetuate his memory and highlight his care for students throughout his career. The purpose of this fund is to award a scholarship to undergraduate students at the Department of Mathematics and Statistics who have demonstrated academic excellence.

Merit Scholarship / Dean's Honour List (2018-2021)

The purpose of this fund is to recognize in-course excellence is a University of Ottawa priority. Since Fall 2016, the University of Ottawa offers, in collaboration with private donors, a merit program for all the students with an excellent academic standing. The merit scholarship is offered to a student who is registered full-time in a direct-entry faculty and appears on the Dean’s Honour List for the previous term. I received this award 7 times.

Financial Aid Bursary for International Students (2018-2020)

The Financial Aid Bursary has been designed to help international students in need to complete their education. It is meant to supplement other sources of funding such as the student’s own resources and the resources of their parents or partner. The value of the bursary depends both on the student’s level of financial assistance and availability of funds. This bursary is available to all University of Ottawa undergraduate and graduate students. Recipients have to maintain satisfactory academic standing.

Suicide Alertness (2019)

This 3-hour workshop alerts one to warning signs indicating risk of suicide. The workshop emphasizes the importance of recognizing the signs, communicating with the person at risk, and getting help or resources for the person at risk.

I had the best academic results among my grade classmates in 2015, 2014, 2010, and 2008.

Interschool Debate Competitions Winner (2016-2017)

First picture: I won an interschool debate simulation of the Organization of American States ("MED ULima") organized by "Universidad de Lima" representing Uruguay on the topic: Humanitarian and Social Crisis in Venezuela.

Second picture: I obtained an honorable mention on an interschool debate simulation of the United Nations ("LiMUN") organized by "Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Peru" representing Ireland on the topic: Journalists' Rights Protection.

Mathemtatics Competitions Winner

I got first place on the Mathematics Contest among my grade classmates in 2016, 2015, 2013, 2011, 2010, and 2008.

Tennis Tournaments Winner

I won the Under-14 tennis tournament at "Jockey Club del Peru" in 2014. I also participated in Tennis National Tournaments.
